NEW,

I'm a participant in the Respect Massage awareness movement. You might wonder why it even needs to be addressed, however the are many ways people don't respect Massage Therapy. The following entails some direct and very frank language because, unfortunately it needs to be. Hopefully this helps to spread awareness and keeps predators out of my office.

ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY:

The following is a list of banned behaviors:

* Inappropriate requests including the use of coded language via phone, text, email or in person.

*Asking to be naked on the table without cover, aka asking the therapist not to follow NYS draping laws.

*Disrobing in front of or flashing your therapist.

*Blocking the entrance/door.

*Touching yourself for arousal, grinding on the table or discharging bodily fluids on the table.

*Touching/groping your therapist.

*Requesting treatment that knowingly causes your arousal.

*Referring others seeking inappropriate touch to your therapist.

*ZERO TOLERANCE: Any inappropriate actions or requests will trespass that individual from my practice indefinitely.

OTHER TIPS:

Please follow basic "personal space" etiquette and have a seat in the chair provided for you. Not on the table or blocking the door.

If there's a medically diagnosed incontinence issue please communicate that to your therapist. (Please empty your bladder before your session and wear your underwear/liner to eliminate/minimize accidents.)

When you're recommending an LMT to a friend or family member, be sure to explain that inappropriate actions, remarks, arousal seekers and solicitations aren't permitted.

Please help me and other LMT's safely work by honoring and respecting massage therapy in your actions and in who you recommend to us.
